Young People Are Not Waiting to Grow Up. They Are Becoming.
Between nine and seventeen, a person is not standing in a waiting room before real life begins. This is real life, and the most formative part of it.
They are asking:
- Who am I?
- Do I belong?
- Am I enough?
- What makes me different?
- What matters?
- What am I here for?
And the answers are arriving, from friends, from school, from social media, from entertainment, from culture, sometimes from family and church. They will not wait for permission.
PLC Kids exists to make sure that among all those voices, there is one that is anchored in God’s Word, one that tells a young person the truth about who they are, and one that helps them practise living it.
Information tells you what is true. Formation helps you become someone who lives it.
Every session in PLC Kids moves through the same arc.

Formation precedes expression.
PLC Kids is designed to cultivate young people who can…
These are formation goals, not guarantees. Every young person grows in their own time, and our work is to create the environment where growth becomes possible.
- Answer “Who are you?” with an understanding of identity that is personally owned and rooted in Scripture.
- Speak about their gifts, interests, strengths, and possible contribution.
- Navigate friendship and peer pressure without losing themselves.
- Build integrity that does not depend on who is watching.
- Experience failure without believing it defines them.
- Understand leadership as service and responsible influence.
- And begin to think about purpose on purpose.
A note for you
The rest of this page is written for your parents. This part is for you.
You do not have to have the right answers here. You will be asked real questions, the kind adults sometimes skip. Why do I feel different? What do I do when my friends want me to do something I know is wrong? Does God actually care about what I’m going through?
You will not be told what to feel or be made to perform. You will be treated as someone who is becoming, which you are. You can ask hard questions. You can disagree. You can figure out what you believe.
If you want to know who you are in God, and what that means for how you live, you are exactly who this was made for.
Parents Are Not Spectators. They Are Partners in Formation.
- Pre-enrolment orientation
Before the journey begins, we walk you through PLC Kids: what it is, what to expect, your role, how we communicate, and how sessions work. Parent onboarding is on Saturday 31 October, 6:00 PM UK time.
- Parent updates
You will know what your young person is learning, and which conversations you can carry on at home.
- The Parents Community
A dedicated WhatsApp community, for parents and guardians only, carries announcements, session dates, reminders, and resources.
- Commissioning
Parents are invited to the closing commissioning experience where we send young people out into what they have become.
For young people whose families want faith, identity, and purpose formed with intention.
Participants must be between 9 and 17 on the first session date, 7 November 2026. A participant who turns 18 during the journey is welcome to complete it.
- Online
- Sessions are online, so a young person can join from anywhere, with appropriate parent or guardian support.
- Age-sensitive
- Facilitation is age-sensitive, so the experience is right for a nine-year-old and for a seventeen-year-old.
- Cost
- PLC Kids is free. In return, we ask families to enrol only if they can commit to attending, so that every place is used well.
Two mothers, hosting your child’s journey.
Debbie
Chartered Accountant, wife of sixteen years, mother of two sons, and former Head of the Child Care Unit. She helped start PLC because she believes what God has shown her at home can strengthen young people coming behind.
Teni
Studied Social Policy and Health & Social Care, has worked in schools and the NHS, and is raising a teenager. PLC began with her prayer for wisdom, and her conviction that no parent has to raise the next generation alone.

About the programme
What is PLC Kids?
A free, six-month Christian formation journey for young people ages 9 to 17, made up of twelve live online sessions and twelve core themes, from identity and purpose to friendship, integrity, and leadership.
Is PLC Kids a church or a Sunday school?
No. It is a Christian formation programme that teaches from Scripture. It is not a church and does not replace a family’s church.
Do we need to attend a particular church?
No. Families from different church backgrounds are welcome.
Does my child need to be a Christian?
PLC Kids is a Christian programme and teaches from the Bible. Families who are exploring faith are welcome to register, on the understanding that the content is Christian.
What does “formation” mean?
Formation is the intentional work of becoming: what a person believes, who they walk with, and what they practise. We do not only want young people to know biblical truth. We want them to understand it, own it, and live it.
Is the content the same for a 9-year-old and a 17-year-old?
The themes are shared. The facilitation is age-sensitive, so the way each theme is explored fits the young person in front of us.
Cost and commitment
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no fee to take part in these sessions. If fee-based academies or programmes are introduced later, they will be announced separately.
What do you ask of families?
That you enrol only if you can commit to attending sessions, join the parent onboarding on Saturday 31 October, and stay connected through the Parents Community.
Enrolment
Who can enrol?
Young people who are 9 to 17 on the first session date, Saturday 7 November 2026.
When does enrolment close?
Enrolment for this inaugural cohort closes on Saturday 24 October 2026.
I have more than one child. What should I do?
Please complete a separate registration form for each child, so that every participant has a complete and accurate record.
What happens after I register?
You will see a confirmation and be invited straight away to the PLC Kids Parents Community on WhatsApp. That is where onboarding information, dates, and reminders will be shared.
Do I have to attend the parent onboarding?
We strongly encourage it. It is where we explain the programme, what we expect, your role, and how we communicate.
Sessions and technology
When are the sessions?
The first and last Saturday of every month, 6:00 to 7:00 PM UK time, from 7 November 2026 to 24 April 2027. Use the time-zone converter on this page to see your local time.
Why does the time look different in Lagos or New York?
The UK changes its clocks on 25 October 2026 and 28 March 2027, and some countries do not change theirs. The converter accounts for this.
How long is each session?
One hour.
What platform do you use, and what do we need?
Sessions run on Zoom or Google Meet; the final link and platform will be shared with parents before the first session. You will need a stable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone.
Does a parent need to be present?
Sessions are designed for young people to take part with appropriate parent or guardian support.
What about the holiday dates?
Three sessions fall close to public holidays: 26 December, 2 January, and 27 March. If any change, we will announce it first in the Parents Community.
Parents
What is the Parents Community?
A WhatsApp community for parents and guardians only. It is where we share onboarding information, session dates, reminders, announcements, and resources.
Will my child be in the WhatsApp group?
No. It is for parents and guardians only, and it is an announcement-only space, so the community does not turn into a chat.
How will I know what my child is learning?
Through parent updates that explain what participants are exploring and which conversations you can continue at home.
What is the commissioning?
A closing experience at the end of the journey, to which parents are invited.
Safety and privacy
How do you keep young people safe online?
Every participant is registered and consented by a parent or guardian, communication goes through parents, and there is no unnecessary private one-to-one contact between facilitators and young people. Read our Child Safeguarding page.
Will my child be recorded or photographed?
Sessions may be recorded so that participants can watch replays. Photographs and video used anywhere else need your separate, optional consent, and declining it does not affect participation.
Who sees my information?
Only the people who need it to run the programme. See our Privacy Notice.
How do I raise a concern?
Email info@purposeandlifeclub.org. Concerns are taken seriously and handled with care.
Looking ahead
What happens after April?
We will share what comes next in the Parents Community. If enrolment has closed when you read this, join the waitlist for the next cohort.
Your child is becoming. Help shape who they become.
Free. Twelve live sessions. Enrolment closes 24 October.
