Child Safeguarding

Creating a safe environment for young people matters to us.

PLC Kids is designed to provide a respectful, age-appropriate, and intentional online environment for young people.

Because we work with minors, safeguarding is treated as an important part of how the programme is designed and delivered.

Our commitment

We are committed to:

  • Parent / Guardian Consent

Participation begins with appropriate parent or guardian registration and consent.

  • Appropriate Communication

Communication with young participants will be handled through appropriate programme channels and processes.

  • Responsible Adult Involvement

Parents and guardians remain important partners in the online formation environment.

  • Safe Online Sessions

Live sessions will be structured with appropriate expectations for participation, conduct, communication, and interaction.

  • Appropriate Boundaries

Facilitators and programme personnel should not engage in unnecessary private one-to-one communication with minors outside approved programme processes.

  • Media Consent

Photography, video, and recording consent is handled separately from programme participation.

  • Responsible Information Handling

Participant information will be handled responsibly and only for legitimate programme, communication, administrative, and safeguarding purposes.

  • Respectful Community

We expect all participants and adults involved in PLC Kids to contribute to an environment characterised by respect, dignity, kindness, and appropriate conduct.

Concerns will be handled seriously and through appropriate safeguarding processes.

Our responsibility

Safeguarding is not a single document.

It is an ongoing responsibility.

Our internal safeguarding procedures cover areas such as:

  • Facilitator conduct
  • Safeguarding training and onboarding
  • Reporting and escalation
  • Handling disclosures
  • Online session expectations
  • Camera and microphone guidance
  • Parent involvement
  • Platform security
  • Recording procedures
  • Incident documentation
  • Facilitator and volunteer responsibilities

Our safeguarding procedures will be reviewed as the programme develops and in line with applicable requirements.

A safe space to be formed.
